There are welcome drinks and appetizers at the Greenhouse in Iowa City on Wednesday, December 30th from 5-7. Hosted drinks and light snacks, including non-alcoholic options will be available.
Let’s looks nice, here. We’re not out to make you black tie or buy a new suit. Business attire, business casual, maybe a job interview, maybe like you’re going to church, just don’t look like a ragamuffin. Nobody likely in any sort of tuxedo, ball gown, Met Gala wear, Lady Gaga outfit, anything silly like that. Be comfortable, look nice, and we’ll be fine.
Yes! There will obviously be some point in the night where the music/vibe may shift away from a fully family-“friendly” event, but kids are obviously a big part of our lives and are of course welcome, especially knowing how difficult it can be to find childcare for a special evening.
Our caterers can accomodate food allergies and sensitivities. If you have one, please note in your RSVP. We my confirm with you and the caterer to make sure their substitutions are appropriate, but we’re completely open and supportive of whatever diet everyone needs to have a good time.
At the reception, we’ll have hosted beer, wine, hard cider, and NA beer. We’ll also have cash liquor available. There will also be (most excitingly) some warm mulled cider available on what my be a chilly evening. We’ll have sparkling wine for a toast, and non-alcoholic options for that toast as well.
We have shuttles running starting at 8:30 between the venue, The Drury, and The Highlander. The final shuttle from the venue to the hotels is 11:30, but we have the shuttle between hotels until 1.
We have to be out of the space by 11PM, but plan on ringing in the new year at the Highander hotel bar. Our shuttles will operate between those locations, or if you’ve got a room at that hotel for the night, bob’s your uncle!
Yes! We have permission from the venue to leave cars there up until noon the next day. We ask that you have them out before then.
